An initial batch of face shields are currently being manufactured locally as part of a project of the University of the West Indies in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, the Trinidad and Tobago Manufacturers Association (TTMA), CARIRI, local manufacturers, and companies such as Label House, Advanced Foam, Ace Printery, Lensyl Products, Daisy’s Exclusive, TYE Manufacturing, MIC, Peake Technologies Ltd., Thermoplas, Electrosign Ltd. and V&S Pharmaceuticals

To sponsor Protect-A-Doctor Kits ($2000ttd /kit) and donate to the manufacture of other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), as well as the material for face masks, respirators and mechanical and industrial components for ventilators..

(These kits will provide added protection for doctors during intubation procedure where the risk of infection is extremely high due to the aerosolization of the virus. Each kit consists of 1 Plexiglass aerosolization shield, 1 Industrial endoscope with screen and 3, 3D printed laryngoscope blades (different sizes)).

The cost of the kit is TT$2,000.
